MEET THE EXECUTIVE TEAM
Hello! My name is Gavin Gonzalez, and I’m honored to serve as the President of PRSSA this semester. I’m a senior majoring in Strategic Communications with a focus on Public Relations and minoring in Consumer Science.
One of my main goals this year is to connect with all the amazing new members while building lasting friendships and professional relationships along the way. As our chapter grows more than ever this semester, I’m especially excited to help welcome and support all the new faces joining us.
A little about me: My family has always been my biggest motivator, encouraging me to work hard and leave a positive impact wherever I go. Outside of school and work, I’m fully dedicated to my band, ORION 224. I’ve been playing music for over 10 years (drums and piano), and it’s been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. In my free time, I also enjoy playing sports and video games.
I’m excited for all that PRSSA has planned this semester and can’t wait to get to know everyone!

Hello! My name is Danielle Vela, this semester's Director of Professional Development! I'm majoring in Strategic Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and minoring in Human Development and Consumer Sciences.
My goal is to create memorable events and experiences for our members! I look forward to connecting with everyone!In my free time, I enjoy exploring different parts of Houston.

Hi! My name is Anaya Baxter and I am a senior majoring in Strategic Communication with a concentration in integrated communication and minoring in marketing. I am very honored and blessed to serve as this semester’s Director of Communication.
I am very excited to help new and returning members find their place in the communications industry. There are many avenues and opportunities that can be overwhelming, but likewise, the variety means there is a place for everyone! I will do my best to help you find yours.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, going on walks, listening to music, and cooking/baking. I can’t wait to see what this semester has in store!
Hello! My name is Sarah Flores and I am PRSSA’s spring semester Director of Membership! Formerly Secretary, I have been apart of UH PRSSA for a year now. DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Howdy! I am Madison Costa, a Strategic Communications major at the University of Houston. My Concentration is in Organizational Communications, and I am also minoring in Technology Leadership & Innovation Management.
As the Director of Operations for PRSSA Houston Chapter, I support the Chapter President and Vice President. My job is to coordinate guest speakers, onboard new members, plan site visits, and do community outreach. I oversee chapter operations to ensure compliance with PRSSA policies and procedures. I am also responsible for collaborating on fundraising efforts, maintaining relationships with professional advisors, and keeping members informed about scholarships, professional opportunities, and industry news. I manage my own department, and I am helping redefine a position that was reintroduced to the chapter.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with family and friends. You will probably catch me taking spontaneous trips or embarking on adventurous experiences throughout the year. I am excited to see what this new year will bring and encourage each and every one of you to step out of your comfort zone in the coming months!
Hey! My name is Audrey Hernandez. I am majoring in Strategic Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and I plan on minoring in Business Administration. This semester, I am excited to be serving as Director of Finance. I will be working closely with the executive board to keep the finances of PRSSA organized!
I am an out of state (from NC) first generation college student. I came in as a journalism major but quickly realized public relations was my true passion. I plan on going to graduate school and becoming a touring manager for the music industry.
My love for the music industry started when I was really young and as i’ve grown older i’ve realized there is nothing i’d rather do. I frequent concerts and listen to all sorts of different genres. I am looking forward to expanding beyond public relations and into the realm of finance! I am so excited for this upcoming semester!!!

Hi my name is Nina, I’m this semester’s secretary! I’m a Strategic Communications major with a focus in PR and I plan on minoring in marketing.
I’m a sophomore and I’m so excited to serve PRSSA for this year, and many more! As Secretary, my job is managing our website, calendar and newsletter. I am also communicating closely with the executive board to inform them on any internship or event opportunities to strengthen PRSSA.
One thing about me is that I am passionate about animal welfare, and I hope one day I can use my degree to benefit animal shelters and veterinary hospitals. If I had the choice, I would rescue as many stray animals as possible my house can fit.
Outside of school I love working out, writing, shopping and also taking care of my two rabbits. I’m also very excited to meet everyone so please feel free to reach out if you need anything!
